The Washington Post Company and AT&T Broadband Complete Trade of Cable Systems

WASHINGTON and ENGLEWOOD, Colo.-- March 2, 2001--Cable ONE, Inc., a subsidiary of The Washington Post Company, and AT&T Broadband have completed a previously announced trade of cable systems. The transaction was first announced in August 2000.

As a result of the trade, Cable ONE now owns the assets of cable systems serving about 149,000 subscribers in and around the Idaho communities of Boise, Idaho Falls, Twin Falls, Pocatello and Lewiston, and the Oregon community of Ontario.

AT&T now owns the assets of cable systems serving about 107,000 subscribers in Modesto and Santa Rosa, CA., and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Cable ONE, Inc., a subsidiary of The Washington Post Company (NYSE:WPO), now serves approximately 754,000 subscribers in 19 midwestern, western, and southern states.
