Donald E. Graham Named Co-Chair of the International Herald Tribune
The International Herald Tribune is an international newspaper jointly owned by The Washington Post Company and The New York Times Company. It is edited in Paris, printed at 24 sites around the world, and distributed in more than 180 countries. It draws on editing and journalistic resources deployed across five continents and totaling nearly 100 correspondents, including the international reporting staffs of The Washington Post, The New York Times, and the IHT itself.
The IHT co-chair from The New York Times Company is Arthur O. Sulzberger, Sr., who served for many years as publisher of The New York Times and CEO of The New York Times Company.
"The IHT has excellent leadership, a strong tradition, and a proud history of journalistic excellence," said Graham. "The IHT's comprehensive and independent reporting of the period following September 11 is only the most recent example of why so many people around the world rely upon it. All of us associated with the IHT are dedicated to insuring it continues to be one of the world's great newspapers."
The position of co-chair from The Washington Post Company was held from 1966 until this year by the late Katharine Graham.
