Josef van Wyk, vice president and chief information security officer, joined Graham Holdings Company (then The Washington Post Company) in 2008 as director of IT audit, before being named senior director of information security and privacy and, subsequently, vice president and chief information security officer. He is responsible for the Company's information security and privacy program across its portfolio of businesses. Prior to joining the Company, van Wyk worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a manager in the firm's Technical Risk Services practice in South Africa, and later in its Systems and Process Assurance practice in McLean, VA. He began his career in internal audit at Gold Fields, one of the world's largest gold producers, in South Africa.
Van Wyk received his MBA from Bond University (Australia) and his undergraduate degree in commerce and law from the University of Pretoria (South Africa), and completed the Board Director's Program at Henley Business School, University of Reading (UK). He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and serves as an elected member of the Advisory Council and Supervisory Board of the Information Security Forum (ISF).
