Kaplan’s operations are organized into three segments:

Kaplan Higher Education

Kaplan Higher and Professional Education

Kaplan Higher Education, entered into an agreement to contribute the institutional assets and operations of its primarily online university to a new, non-profit, public benefit corporation affiliated with Purdue University, in exchange for a Transition and Operations Support Agreement, for Kaplan to provide key non-academic operations support to the new university: Purdue University Global.

This effectively moved Kaplan out of operating career-focused schools of higher education in the US. Today, Kaplan is now focused on its role as a strategic partner, which can bring a broad array of services, products and collaborative activities to both public and private colleges and universities both in the US and overseas. It continues to operate several universities outside the US, through its international unit.
