WASHINGTON, Nov. 11 -- The Washington Post Company (NYSE: WPO) will provide a live webcast of its Shareholders Day on November 15, 2002.

Shareholders Day is being held to give shareowners an opportunity to learn more about the company's rapidly changing divisions; presentations will be made by senior managers of Post-Newsweek Stations, Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive, Cable ONE and Kaplan. In addition, Donald E. Graham, chairman and chief executive officer of The Washington Post Company, will give a brief overview of the company. The company's management also will respond to questions.

Presentations will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at approximately 12:30 p.m. Attendance at Shareholders Day is restricted to Washington Post Company shareholders.

Those who wish to hear the live webcast should allow 15 minutes to access the home page of the company's web site, http://www.washpostco.com , and click on the Shareholders Day link. The webcast will be available in Windows Media Player. Questions about business matters may be sent by email to shareholders@washpost.com.
