WASHINGTON -- The Washington Post Company announced today that Polly Povejsil Heath has been elected controller. She had most recently been general manager of Digital Ink, the company's new media subsidiary.

Ms. Heath joined the company in 1982 at The Washington Post newspaper and has held a variety of financial and management positions. Previously, she had been a consultant with Boston Consulting Group and a senior accountant with Price Waterhouse.

Ms. Heath received an A.B. degree from Brown University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. She is a Certified Public Accountant.

Ms. Heath and her husband, Thomas, a sports reporter at The Post, live in Chevy Chase, MD.
