Matthew C. Seelye Elected Controller of The Washington Post Company

WASHINGTON--The Washington Post Company (NYSE: WPO) announced today Matthew C. Seelye has been elected controller. He had been assistant controller since May 1999.
Seelye, 32, joined The Washington Post Company in December 1997 as director of corporate accounting. From 1995 to 1997 he was a manager at Price Waterhouse LLP, which he joined as a staff accountant in 1990.
Seelye received a bachelor of business administration degree from James Madison University. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
Seelye and his wife, Kara, have two sons.
