WASHINGTON--Sept. 14, 2000--Barry Diller has been elected to the Board of Directors of The Washington Post Company, the company announced today. Mr. Diller is chairman and chief executive officer of USA Networks, Inc. He also is a director of Ticketmaster Online-Citysearch, Inc., and Seagram Company Ltd.

Mr. Diller's election increases The Washington Post Company's Board of Directors to 11 members.
